ABOVE THE HAZE BOSTON UNIVERSITY
a Chi Alpha Campus Ministry
Our weekly, spiritual life workshop meets every Fridays, 7:00-9:00 PM in CDS 264
Our Bible studies meet throughout the week.
Relational Bible Studies (Cores)
New life is found in the dynamic experience of reading the Bible and applying it to your life. Dynamic because Jesus and his Spirit are actively involved, making the experience transformational. But it doesn’t stop here. Growth is something we are supposed to do together. Each bible study is a relational team who encourages, supports. and walks with us through our life’s challenges. This process of learning and following Jesus together is called discipleship and this takes the process from merely a mental exercise to something that involves our mind, will, and spirit.
Jesus' strategy to change the world was different than expected. He did speak to crowds, but that’s not how he spent most of his time. He built a small group and poured his life into them so they could pour their lives into others who would then pour their lives into others. The Apostle Paul repeats this in II Timothy 2:2, “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
This idea of discipleship is central to the Christian faith, though too few take advantage of it. That is why we call our Bible studies Core (Core principle, Core to growth. I think you get it). Check out one of our Cores and see what’s possible. Contact us to get involved.
Above The Haze Spiritual Life Workshops
Friday Nights 7:00, CDS 264
Our weekly meetings are a chance for all of Above The Haze to gather together to engage with God through teaching, worship, and service toward one another. It is a time for members of various Cores and others to interact as we continue to follow God. It is a time to allow the Holy Spirit to communicate with us through Scripture, to speak and listen through prayer and worship, and to allow the Spirit to guide us as we minister to each other.
FeedOne
FeedOne is an international organization dedicated to setting up feeding stations where needed and then training the local people to become self-sufficient and take over the work. We work raising funds to feed children through FeedOne, and we have used our spring break to work with these projects in Haiti and Puerto Rico.
